Not only am I shamelessly unable to post frequently, I am now unable to come up with a simple title for my post as well. And I used to think that I would have all the time in the world when I'm a SAHM! Okay, it's not like the housework and the 2 men in my life keep me occupied 24/7 but I have discovered that there are dozens of distractions within the four walls of a home! And I'm one person who gets way too easily distracted. There are always the important phone calls, sms-es, researching cum catching up with friends on the net, Korean dramas and good books to distract me from the tasks at hand. Like yesterday, I got started on my sewing project really early only to be distracted by the Korean drama which starts at 8.30am. I know, I know I should have hid the TV cable but there're always calls and messages to attend to and being the weird being that I am, I crave a good book to read while buried under a pile of clothes! Thankfully the sewing is progressing not so smoothly despite my whims. I have 2 engagement gifts decoration project coming up, I have to get hold of myself or rather my roaming attention. If I were a man, my wife would have tossed me out within the first week of our marriage! No, in fact she wouldn't have married me at all!
This afternoon I went for the Meet-the-parents session in Sameer's school. His marks were okay, he's an average like myself. Form teacher had no complaints regarding his conduct in class, well-behaved student like myself hehehe. One and single problem with him is: easily distracted. JUST LIKE MYSELF. Now I have to go back to what was going on in my mind when I was in Primary 3 and figure out how to help Sameer get over his roaming attention! Your suggestions are most welcomed. And oh, I'm going to pretend the holidays are not here yet. I have not prepared on how to fill Sameer's 4 weeks at home, other than the trips to the libraries! I have been wanting to go to the Marine Parade library, I saw the new building while driving past. It looks huge, all glassy and impressive! I know the building has nothing to do with the books. In any case, I do want take a stroll down that neighbourhood where I used to spend a good portion of my growing years!
Here's one unforgettable memory of how the first time I wanted to put my dormant kindness into action and was refused!! On that fateful day, I spotted a frail old lady making her way down the steps of the overhead bridge in front of Parkway. Observing that she was holding a heavy-looking bag, I decided to approach her in all kindness and extend my over-flowing help even though I was not going in the same direction as her. I couldn't bear the thought of her stumbling and rolling down the steep stairs with her bag following behind! Guess what, she flatly and rudely refused my help! Just like that. I didn't know what to make out of it then, now I feel that she was either fiercely independent or she was carrying stacks of cash in that suspiciously-heavy-looking bag!!!
While I'm being random, let me just add on that this was the very same bridge where I saw my teacher, Mr Lee, practically hopping down the steps with an exaggerated feminine flair while giggling and holding hands with another guy. At that vulnerable age, it was HORRIFYING! A small part of my world collapsed at the bridge and I learnt the meaning of "double life". Such a small, innocent world it used to be! Sigghhh.
Back to the present, I have to get back to some sewing right now. Here's a sneak preview of my recent obsession.
I woke up one day and found aprons extremely cute and adorable! And I HAD to sew some! :)

His first day of vacation is already over and don't have a plan yet?! *shock*
But knowing your creative side, I'm sure you'll come up with something fun. One can not spend most of the time at the library, even if it is glassy and impressive.
And that old lady who refused your help rudely, you may be right about her carrying money in that bag. Why else would she react as if you'd run away with it? :D
PS: Those aprons are so stylish! Thanks to you for posting the pictures, I am now unable to look (let alone use) the old-fashioned apron that I have at home.
oh my god! which Mr Lee is this? was he from EPS?? Tell me tell me which one is this? hehe... maybe i know him too!
Cute aprons by the way... somehow I am the kind of person who only use apron when I'm doing my art but not cooking!? Weird huh... lol

Sue, this Mr Lee was from my sec sch hehehe. Honestly, the last time I donned an apron was back in Home Econ class in sec school. I find these new trendy aprons simply adorable to look at! :D
